I especially like this part: So, to recap, in the Land of the Free: if you’re an adult who produces a film using other consenting adults, for the entertainment of still other consenting adults, which merely depicts fictional acts of humiliation and degradation, the DOJ will prosecute you and send you to prison for years. The claim that no real pain was inflicted will be rejected; mere humiliation is enough to make you a criminal. But if government officials actually subject helpless detainees in their custody to extreme mental abuse, degradation, humiliation and even mock executions long considered “torture” in the entire civilized world, the DOJ will argue that they have acted with perfect legality and, just to be sure, Congress will hand them retroactive immunity for their conduct. That’s how we prioritize criminality and arrange our value system.
I'm not a Max Hardcore fan. But where do we get off in this country sending someone to jail for selling something to people who want to buy it?

Agreed, I am not a Max Hardcore fan either... in fact, I don't personally know anyone who is, but that is besides the point. I am also not a fan of those ultimate fighting games where 2 guys beat the hell out of each other in a ring, but they somehow don't end getting sued. I just don't get it with the Hardcore prosecution; it's another sign of how this country is backsliding into a more prudish, tyrannical, fascist and self-righteous social mindset.

Don't forget there are theaters in this country that refused to show "Zack and Miri Make a Porno" based on title alone. but will show Saw 5 on multiple screens.
Zack & Miri was hillarious, by the way.

I don't want to comment on if he deserves it, but I did not like his films much. And came to avoid him. I saw a few of them and I like some kinky things when all those involved are mutually interested and willing to do kinky stuff.
But he had many films showing him fucking girls dressed and acting like 14 or 15 yo. Many of these scenes he spoke about them like they were trash drug addicted runaways and to Max that seemed to be cool. I know all the girls were actually of age and just playing minors, my fantacys do not go there. All the little minors can fuck each other at the legal age of mutual concent for younger teens. But, shame on Max for glorifying of simulated molestation of under age girls by men with power and money and cruel control, old enough to be their daddy. I'm a liberal, and believe in freedom of expression. But I'm turned off by exploitaton of minors, even if the minors portrayed are actually legal 18 yo or above just acting the parts.

Derriere Reamer, it seems that you and I are in united agreement over some things. This story about Max, in particular.
The arguments I hear these days always seem to be fueled by one sided frustrations over endless double standards. And because of that, the ridiculous double standards only perpetuate that much further. But regardless of all of that, it never excuses either side. As hippocritical as it is, it's all about who who has got the bigger guns to win the damn war.
In my 'opinion', Max Hardcore has always presented himself to the public as a power-mad, greedy, arrogant, sleazy, and hedonistic prick who is great at creating (somewhat borderline) slasher corporate porn. He has just enough gall to present this garbage to the porn community and its fans, and many average American citizens consider it pallitable enough to buy in mass quantities. And being that that is true, it goes to show that his 'talents' do appeal to at least part of the American society. All of the explatives I mentioned above; i.e. power-mad, greedy, sleazy, ect. These characteristics have always been in a large part the American Values System, but not ever the values that we as Americans want to be known for. We're hedonistic as hell, ferfukssakes. Not just the government or the billion dollar greedy ass corporate hounds, but the greater silent majority as well.
But let's get down to brass tacks here. What are the facts of this case, and what did they prove in court. If he's as guilty as sin concerning the charges against him, then he should do his time. My question is, of course, what happens when he gets out of prison? God help us. I mean, I hate to seem so pessimistic, but these are some of the grimmest parts of our reality.
