A question involving the different types of wax...

My wife and I have been experimenting with Wax play. I enjoy binding her breasts and she enjoys wax being pored on them at that time. Rather that's what we thought. See, we've been using this type of candle that comes in a can. It's more of a massage in a can. You can get it at Victoria Secret and such. Yesterday I went to the local upscale sex shop to buy a new rabbit and bought something that was tagged "chinese wax play". Three tall candles in three colors. So last night I light one at her urging. I drip wax from a pretty good height and she all but screamed. Said it was way to hot. I tried moving higher, no better luck.
I'm wondering if there is a happy medium. Those cans of massage are stupidly expensive as we need to use two just to get a good covering of wax. The big candles appear to be to hot.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Sorry for being so long winded.

Different types of wax burn at different temperatures. There's a WikiPedia entry about it here:

I don't know why but the instance I read the words "Chinese wax play" I thought pain. A quick google search with the words "wax play" (use the quotes) will give you great results.

That was awesome.
I guess what I'm looking for now is a reliable vendor of wax with a high mineral Oil content (wow, I even sound like I know what I'm talking about :) ):)

I know you can get low temperature candles (different waxes have different melt temperatures depending on their content)

try thestockroom.com or babeland.com or a google search on BDSM and candle

too tired to look for you right now!

my boy just mentioned that the white paraffin candles (I think like the emergency kind) you can get at the grocery store have worked well for him

I went to the grocery store and found parrifin wax...in the canning section. Now I have the option of melting them because it's two blocks of wax!

Guess looking for volume and looking to not spend a couple hundred on these little tins (http://www.passionessentials.com/body-wax-massage-candle-12-scents.html)

See my wife and know that this type or brand or whatever feels good, dries nicely over her bound breasts and is perfect for the level of heat she enjoys.

Ya know...the hunt is sometimes ALMOST as fun as the event:D

no no no, not the blocks of paraffin! the candles...!

here: http://www.babeland.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Store_Code=TIB&Screen=SRCH&Search=candle

(and in fact, I think they have the same candle you posted, but considerably cheaper)

and excerpt from here http://www.xeromag.com/fvbdsafety.html

- Hot candle wax is excellent for sensation play. However, all candles are not created equal! If you want to experiment with candle wax, it's best to use plain white paraffin candles, of the kind usually sold in grocery stores as "emergency candles." Scented and colored candles can contain plasticisers that make them burn much hotter. In particular, avoid all-black candles and beeswax candles; these typically burn very hot.

also, horrifyingly tacky but pretty inexpensive.... http://www.bdsmwaxplay.com/erotic_waxing.htm

Thankyou very much!

Ya know, at first this: We Now Offer LEATHER SCENTED
and Dragons Blood Candles !!!!

Well that was a bit...off putting. But then I thought about the fact that there is just no way that a freak (ME :) ) can call someone else a freak :D

I think that place is the perfect spot to get a bit of volume in the candle world.

As for the blocks, I'm going to put them somewhere and now and again get a good chuckle.
