Anal Insertion Size Limits?

I've been practicing anal penetration during masturbation for years now, but have only seriously been buying toys for a little while. To me, the most pleasurable sensation is that of stretching myself, and I'm currently up to about 3 inches in diameter. I was just wondering, assuming I'm using plenty of lube and going slowly and paying attention to the messages my body is sending me, is there a limit to how large is safe for insertion? I don't want to do any permanent damage or anything.

On a secondary note, does anybody have any suggestions for toys they like that are more than 2.5 inches diameter? My collection is always growing!

Yes, there are indeed physical limits. Just as there are limits to the amount of food one can ingest in a single meal, to the length of time one can hold their breath, or to the distance one can run. However, just like all of the limits mentioned above, your personal limitations are different from everyone else's. Therefore it is impossible to say that at three inches you have "maxed out" or that you have another three to go.

You are doing exactly what you should be doing, and that is taking the responsibility to go slow and listen to your body. Your body will let you know when you're getting close to, or have reached your personal limit.

Stick with that routine and you should be alright.

i have been fisted for a number of years now and am a lot looser than i used to be ... but i like it that way.

i can take 2 or 3 fingers stright away with no trouble really. with some lube, probably 4 or 5.

I have a 3incher, or slightly larger, that I can take pretty easy. Bit of lube, some teasing and pressure and 2 min later it's in. I've gone beyond that, but its beyond my safe limit - Ive also added a hard plastic dildo beside it (yes, double penetrated, 3" + 1"!), but that requires a lot of pressure and can slip and hurt. (Noticed a small amount of light pink blood after, as well, just some microtears at the opening. Was sore but healed fast.)
