We just got back from a day trip to Baltimore, where we did a walk through of the hotel and had a staff meeting for Dark Odyssey: Winter Fire. I was really impressed with the hotel. Having been to so many leather and sex events at hotels across the country, I can honestly say that this is one of the nicest hotels I've been to for a kinky event. It definitely not the Ramada, that's for sure. A beautiful lobby, nice guest rooms, and an amazing amount of ballroom and meeting room space. There are luxury suites (one of which will be a hospitality suite) and some rooms have hot tubs in them! The swinger event we went to in New Orleans was at a gorgeous hotel, so swingers may be used to this level of luxury, but pervy leatherfolk are not. Seeing the place got me even more excited for the event. We now have over 400 people registered, and although the host hotel is sold out, we have blocks of rooms at nearby hotels, so folks are still registering (as they should be-what are you waiting for???). I'm thrilled to see many queer and genderqueer folks signing up, and I hope more do (hint, hint).

The boy and I have decided to host a GenderQueer Mixer on Friday night, so we can all meet each other (and identify one another for future flirting throughout the weekend). Our staff meeting went very well, although once again I think I have taken on too much-Co-Producer! Presenter! Programming Co-Chair! Special Events Top! Winter Fire 101 Teacher! Mixer Hostess! I need to figure out a way to delegate some of my duties, since I clearly cannot do all of them. Greg and I are working on the program, and hopefully the final schedule of all events (including classes) will be up on the site shortly.
