Tonight, we drove to New Haven for the Best Lesbian Erotica 2005 reading at Yale. It was co-sponsored by Southern Connecticut State University and Yale's LGBT Cooperative as part of their Pride Week. Eric Maroney, a BLE contributor and SCSU student, organized the whole thing and did an awesome job. That day, there was a profile of me in the New Haven Advocate. The boy, Jordan, and I parked in a lot and headed on foot to the reading location. Along the way, we saw chalkings for the reading everywhere. They were sexy and funny, and a couple even read "I (Heart) Tristan Taormino." When we arrived, the place was already full, and by the time we started, it was standing and sitting-on-the-floor room only. Kyle Walker, Rachel Kramer Bussel, Eric, and I all read from the book. The audience was very mixed in terms of gender, age, sexual identity, and students and non-students. It was awesome. I saw my old friend Rachel Pepper, whose daughter is now six, and who is the business manager for The Larry Kramer Initiative for Lesbian and Gay Studies. The second edition of Rachel's awesome book, The Ultimate Guide to Pregnancy for Lesbians, will come out this fall. After the reading, we all headed to the after party at 168 York, where we munched on pizza from next door and chatted with everyone. There was a queer girl there, a girly girl, who had bleached-out dread locks, and a black and white sort of 60s retro go-go girl ensemble. She was hot. She was my hot pick for the evening.

PICTURE: well that's one way to win my affection! Chalkings on the Yale campus leading the way to my reading that night!
