NOTE FROM TRISTAN
Happy 2010 everyone! For the next few months, I will be on the road for most of the time, so I hope that means I will get to see some of you in person! I'll be in Dallas, St. Louis, New Haven (Yale), New York City, Washington DC, Boulder, Denver, Toronto, Portland (Oregon), Seattle, and Southern California. See below for all my February dates, and check out my entire tour schedule here. Last month, my new book came out from Quiver Books. It's The Big Book of Sex Toys, and the title pretty much says it all! It's a gorgeous hardcover book featuring over one hundred original photos and all my advice about sex toys: how to pick them, how to use them, how to take care of them, how to embrace and love them!
I am so excited that my movie The Expert Guide to Threesomes won a 2010 AVN Award for Best Educational Release! We have several new films from Vivid-Ed, including The Expert Guide to Anal Pleasure for Men, Midori's Expert Guide to Sensual Bondage and coming next week...The Expert Guide to Advanced Fellatio (you can pre-order it now and get $10 off on my website). This year, I'm working on volumes 2 and 3 of Tristan Taormino's Rough Sex, The Expert Guide to Advanced Anal Sex , The Expert Guide to Female Ejaculation , and one more educational title (a girl's gotta have a few secrets!). I am so unbelievably thrilled that Rough Sex has been officially selected for the CineKink Film Festival. A scene from the film will be shown on the big screen as part of a showcase of work called Bring It! . We are also now busily preparing for Dark Odyssey: Winter Fire 2010 which is less than a month away, February 26-28, 2010. We have a record number of people registered this year, and it promises to be a great time for everyone! Creating Change Conference
Dallas, TX
Tristan will be one of the featured presenters at the Sexual Liberation Institute, one of the day-long institutes at Creating Change, the annual conference of the National Gay & Lesbian Task Force. She will also be a panelist on several panels related to sex within the LGBT movement. As we look around at our fierce battles to win marriage rights, establish and protect our families, and secure the economic well-being of our diverse households, one is struck by the near-erasure of LGBT sexuality in these struggles, and by the silencing of frank dialogue about sexual diversity and sexual practices in our communities. Do we still believe that LGBT people have a unique contribution to make in American life in the areas of sexual liberation and sexual expression? Or is our desire irrelevant to the quest for “equality”? This year’s Sexual Liberation Institute will focus on desire – our individual desires: how we have shaped them and how they have shaped us. The personal is still political. Come to this workshop and find out how to connect the dots between claiming your power in the bedroom and seizing power in the streets or the halls of justice.
